O co-fundador dos Pink Floyd, morreu devido a problemas com diabetes. Syd Barrett esteve na base da formação dos Floyd, mas apenas permaneceu na banda nos três primeiros anos. Abandonou a banda em finais da década de 60, quando começava a evidenciar debilidades mentais devido à utilização excessiva de LSD. A ele foi dedicada a música Shine On Your Crazy Diamond e o álbum Wish You Were Here.
